Semi-detached Houses

We have lots of these "semi's" in Toronto, in many different neighbourhoods, though why they call them "semi-detached" when "attached" is more accurate, only a real estate agent would know! What I've tried to re-create is the way that each house has a different paint scheme, different siding, and add-ons like home-made porch enclosures. To get that rustic look I used 3 differnt kinds of siding for the porch on the right - board and batten, shiplap and plain to represent plywood. And yes, there is a prototype for this - I used to live in one!

I scratchbuilt the model from sheet styrene, with Grandt Line windows, doors and railings. I've added details like gutters and downspouts, lattice, electric and gas meters. The pillars were made from styrene tube, mounted on constructed brick sheet bases. The shingles were handmade from wet-dry sandpaper, and used a heck of a lot of X-acto blades!
